About Medical Admin

Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Medical Admin in the healthcare industry, with a specific focus on hospitals and social assistance. This role is based in Syracuse, New York, United States.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter and review authorization data in a computerized database

• Support the Clinical Supervisor and team members with administrative and technical tasks

• Handle operational aspects of the referral and authorization process

• Coordinate authorized services with the relevant agencies

• Regularly communicate with Members and collaborate with team members to address Members’ needs

• Assist in scheduling and coordination of patient services as directed by the team

• Act as a resource to Care Managers, aiding with scheduling and tracking of Member contacts, visits and UAS

• Manage various reports within the EHR as directed

• Triage calls, answer questions, and escalate as appropriate when answering the phone for the team

• Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, copying, faxing, and taking messages as directed by the supervisor. Requirements • Proficiency in scheduling patient appointments and managing healthcare professionals' calendars

• Excellent customer service skills for interacting with patients, their families, and healthcare staff

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites for creating and managing electronic health records

• Strong data entry skills for maintaining accurate and updated patient records within the healthcare system

• Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred

• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards.
