Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• For appointment, the candidate must possess a Class B License.This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Duties Description Position Description: Bus Drivers regularly drive full-sized passenger buses on state facility grounds or over the road. Incumbents may post manifests and other records of goods and people transported in order to document safe delivery. They are responsible for the welfare and safety of their bus and passengers while on duty. This item's main task is transporting individuals to/from their homes to program. Also assists Transportation Supervisor with delivering and picking up vehicles from repair shop, back up for mail courier runs to offices located throughout the Capital District and delivers PPE to homes and offices. Performs other assignments in maintenance and grounds when not transporting consumers.Selection Process: Selection will be based on interview and a review of current and past performance, including but not limited to the following:• Successful candidate must possess a satisfactory driving record.• Working knowledge of the Vehicle and Traffic Law as it applies to the safe and legal operation of vehicles operated.• Working knowledge of simple automobile repair and maintenance procedures.• Ability to operate assigned vehicles safely and effectively under various road conditions.• Ability to plan routes to specific locations and to properly estimate time required to reach the locations.• Ability to perform routine maintenance on vehicles operated.• Ability to communicate orally for the purpose of exchanging information.• Candidate must be able to meet the criteria necessary for 19A certification.LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/nys-office-for-people-with-developmental-disabilities/posts/?feedView=all#LI-SB2
