I. Job Summary
WM, North America’s leading environmental services provider, is seeking an experienced communications professional to provide leadership and direction on content and creative development, strategic alignment, and engagement with internal stakeholders and execute integrated communications programs to engage and inform WM’s 50,000+ employees. This individual will work closely with executives across the enterprise on employee communications planning, programming, messaging, and content development – including visual and written communications.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Focused on internal communications and employee experiences for various targeted and broad audiences, including quarterly Town Hall meetings, functional Town Halls, executive speaking engagements, and more.
Responsible for building a content strategy across all internal channels, creating an “always on” content engine to reach employees where they are.
Works within the WM Communications team but has stakeholders throughout WM.
Responsible for amplification of the WM narrative across all internal channels and events to drive alignment and consistency in messaging to deliver business results.
Leads strategic alignment and engagement with key stakeholders throughout WM.
Acts as a key contributor and decision-maker in a fast-paced, complex, and crucial environment.
Provide guidance and leadership to develop the Internal Communications team.
Track and measure the impact of communications programs and leverage data and insights to inform communications strategy and approach.

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
10+ years’ experience in and passion for internal / employee communications and enhancing employee culture, preferably in a large organization.
Exceptional strategic thinking skills – able to build a strategy that connects the dots across the business to support business growth and employee engagement.
Willingness and ability to collaborate, navigate, and represent a communications point-of-view in a complex organization with various internal stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and manage the workload of direct report(s).
Strong coaching and people development skills
Detail and deadline-oriented – able to manage several levels up to ensure on-time, flawless execution.
High business acumen with an ability to see around corners for longer-range communications implications.
Strong team player, able to work with various working styles and functional teams.
Poise and executive presence that inspires trust among leadership.
Strong writing skills that translate to various formats, including executive talking points for live speaking engagements, emails/letters, long-form storytelling, short-form social sound bites, video, decks, etc.
Ability to operate with agility, speed, and precision in a fast-paced, on-demand environment.
Proficiency executing end-to-end plans independently.
Must be willing and able to conduct occasional travel (10%)A. Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Communication, Journalism or Public Relations and ten years previous experience in a communications department or agency.

None required.The salary range for this position is $125,500 –$169,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
