Senior Accountant II Location: Detroit, MI/Charlotte, NC/Hybrid Duration: 23 months Description: Job Description Client is seeking a forward-thinking accountant with a passion for innovation. This Senior Accountant role will be a member of Client’s Controller’s Team and will play a critical role in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role offers you the opportunity to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across our organization and assist them in optimizing their accounting processes. Essential Duties: Collaborate with subject matter experts to define and realize functionality that provides operational improvements. Gain an understanding of Client’s accounting routines at both an operational and regulatory level. Work within a team to develop options and solutions for the ERP, support the delivery of training and assist in the testing and validation of working test models. Maintain project documentation in accordance with project management guidelines. Maintain and update system documentation. Perform related duties as required. Recommended Competencies: Possess a deep understanding of accounting, finance, and tax related areas to be able to support solutions and the development of high-quality requirements. A broad understanding of the monthly and annual closing and reporting process. Demonstrate effective communication to team members, management, sponsors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Ability to manage large data sets, investigate variances and prepare a variety of reports. Ability to balance and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks, and manage competing priorities effectively and independently, while delivering results and delivering to deadlines Utilizes knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to assure financial system designs and configurations meet these principles and compliance with financial regulations. Ability to work well with others in a collaborative spirit. Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience: Undergraduate degree in accounting – CPA certification or equivalent preferred 3+ years of accounting experience (A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, journal entry preparation, Financial Statement reporting) with an excellent understanding of accounting software Prior experience with ERP accounting system implementation, Workday Financials preferred. Knowledge of project management tools and procedures. Proficient MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) preferred. Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory Skills Knowledge of GAAP, Proficient MS Excel skills Senior Accountant Strong foundation in accounting principles - GAAP; Project experience; SAP General Ledger; Workday experience ideal but not required. Must have excellent communication skills and work well independently – self-starter and directed but and also able to work collaboratively.
