General Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments, and conduct Phase I/II ESAs and limited site investigations. Identify, evaluate, and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare applicable risk assessments and technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, tank closure assessments, and limited site investigations. This field position would require overnight travel.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Proficient scientific professional responsible for conducting site testing and making recommendations for smaller projects of minimal complexity.
May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
Performs site visits, field observations, and field data collection or assignments.
Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals.
Evaluates moderately complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.
May serve as team member and participate in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
Experienced with ASTM Phase I ESA standard (most recent standard ideal), and IDEM cleanup goals / closure levels / screening levels / published levels along with associated IDEM investigation guidance or non-rule policy documents.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering field.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
