Description

A construction North Houston is in need of a Construction Estimator on a temporary to full-time basis. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for tasks such as construction estimating, quantity take-offs, cost management, communication, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation to provide an accurate estimate of the total cost and help ensure that the project stays within budget.

Bid Preparation, update, and revise estimates

Collaboration with Project Teams, which includes working with Sales Dept, Construction Dept, and clients to determine the scope of work and create detailed cost breakdowns for each aspect of a project.

Cost control, review contracts and specifications

Requirements

Skills Qualifications:

Construction estimating and quantity take-off skills

Cost management and budgeting abilities

Strong client communication skills

Experience in commercial construction, especially within landscaping, hardscape, or pools is preferred.

Attention to detail and accuracy in estimations

Proficiency in relevant software and tools

Degree in project management or related field or 2+ years of experience

Reviewing blueprints and other documents to understand the project scope.

Obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.

Preparing detailed cost estimates based on the materials, labor, and overhead costs.

Managing project timelines and coordinating with other departments to ensure that costs are kept in line with the budget.

Analyzing project risks and helping identify areas that might lead to cost overruns.
