POSITION: AWS Engineer

LOCATION: Fully Remote

DURATION: 6 MONTH CONTRACT WITH EXTENSIONS

HOURLY: $65-80/HOUR

Responsibilities:

Design and architect highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on AWS, tailored to the specific needs of a clean energy company (e.g., handling time-series data from energy grids, integrating with IoT devices, supporting complex simulations).

Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate AWS services to meet business requirements.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and infrastructure updates.

Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud performance and cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.

Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and features.

Contribute to the development of cloud strategy and roadmap.

Participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Consult with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

Document cloud architectures and best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud environments.

Deep understanding of AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOC 2).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Passion for clean energy and sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).

Experience working in the energy sector or with time-series data.

Knowledge of IoT technologies and integration with AWS.

Experience with data analytics and machine learning on AWS.
