Job Summary
The Community Events Specialist ("Specialist"), reports to the ChiefMarketing and Communications Officer and works under general supervision tocreate, drive and execute a comprehensive strategies for strategic externalevents, supports the planning and logistics for key internal events with anemphasis on engagement and serves as the thought partner for signature eventsand company-wide events. The Specialist plans, creates and executes ayear-long events strategy. Organizes and hosts events. Guides the SponsorshipCommittee in deciding the best events for Denver Health to participate inusing our brand to drive decision making.
The Specialist coordinates and manages the volunteer team; developing andimplementing innovative and creative ideas. The Specialist regularly travelsfor site inspections, preplanning meetings and to manage events.
Essential Functions:Event Planning & ExecutionPlans, creates and executes a year-long events strategy. Organizes and hostsevents. Guides the Sponsorship Committee in deciding the best events forDenver Health to participate in using our brand to drive decision making.(50%)Event Project ManagementDevelops and manages event budgets, monitoring expenditures. Plans,organizes and oversees the activities and trainings of the volunteerteam.Recommends and implements strategies and tactics to grow the volunteerteam. Drive brand engagement. Executes effective project management of eventsensuring the ability to meet timelines and complete tasks. (20%)Event SupportOnsite support of events including but not limited to traveling to events,managing event merchandise, coordinating table assignments, and generaladministrative duties as required. (20%)Promotional MaterialCreate communications and promotional materials to promote events and attractvolunteers and share the story of Denver Health's engagement in thecommunity (10%)
Education:Bachelor's Degree required.
Work Experience:4-6 years experience in community event management covering budget andmerchandising required. Strong communications skills required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multipledeadlines.Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.Knowledge of logistics planning of complex meeting and events, and contractmethods.Ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders.
This position is part time, 20 hours per week. Salary range for parttime: $28,854.00 to $37,596.00 annually
