The Mississippi Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Responsibilities:
Supervision and Support:Provide 24/7 supervision and support to residential students, promoting a safe and inclusive living environment.
Crisis Intervention:Respond to and manage crisis situations, providing emotional support and implementing appropriate interventions when necessary.
Community Building:Foster a sense of community among residents, organizing and facilitating group activities, meetings, and events to promote socialization and teamwork.
Enforcement of Rules and Policies:Enforce program rules and policies, ensuring a structured and disciplined living environment that aligns with Job Corps guidelines.
Counseling and Guidance:Offer guidance and counseling to students on personal and interpersonal issues, helping them navigate challenges and develop essential life skills.
Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student behavior, incidents, and interactions, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Collaboration:Collaborate with other Job Corps staff, including educators and career counselors, to provide holistic support to students in their personal and academic development.
Communication:Keep open lines of communication with students, addressing concerns and providing feedback to promote their growth and success.
Qualifications:
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Previous experience working with young adults in a residential or educational setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing residential programs.

Qualifications
o Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situation and to accomplish their goals and objectives.o Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselor.o Assist in unit activities, as designated, including unit government.o Patrol and monitor dormitories and center as required ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.o Prepare the daily operations report, pass list, and other administrative correspondence relating to students.o Direct students and assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.o Recommend or requisition supplies to provide needs for dorm living and safety of students.o Maintain dormitory and individual student files; ensure files are complete, updated and contain all required documentation.o Enter student case notes in the center information system.o Participate in career development services system by ensuring a safe living environment and creating positive peer leadership role modeling techniques within the dorm.o Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills.o It is expected the incumbent will work overtime when directed to do so.o Regular and predictable attendance is required.o Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.o Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.o Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.o Other duties as assigned.
