We are currently hiring for a Tax Lead in full-time in our office in Zurich.
In this role you would advise on Takeda’s tax position of Takeda operating group companies in a selected group of countries in EUCAN, manage the tax audits with the relevant tax authorities in this region, supervise and ensure that all tax matters are being properly handled from a tax accounting and tax compliance perspective. You would also provide advice and support to local finance team and help actively educate business partners on relevant changes in tax legislation with material impact on the business. You also play a key bridge function between the global tax functional leads and Takeda Business Solutions Tax Solutions Hub in Lodz, Poland with the ability to reduce complexity and balance local vs. global considerations,
Your tasks in detail:
Establish and maintain network to business within the countries of responsibility, including analysis of tax implications for transactions
Provide high quality tax support to business partners such as finance, legal, business development, supply chain, HR, country managers, etc
Ensure professional and transparent communication with tax authorities at all time
Accountable for corporate income tax compliance and tax audit defence within the region including coordination of corporate income tax compliance
Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate tax risks
Actively lead tax audits in the allocated countries including an alignment on information and data requests and liaison with global tax functional leads on audit defence strategy
Streamline and monitor procedure for indirect tax, withholding taxes
Responsible for monitoring legislative changes in the allocated countries, which will have a material impact on the business or alerting tax planning team on material changes in the business
Proactively evaluate tax risks and discuss mitigating actions
Monitor and coordinate transfer pricing adjustments / documentation within the countries of responsibility in cooperation with Transfer Pricing team
Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective
Your profile:
University Degree in accounting/finance/law, master’s degree in economics/Finance or Law Degree, preferably with a specialization in Taxation
Experience in a tax management position, with a minimum of 3 years of experience within the Pharma industry or Big 4
Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
Experience with Shared Services Centres and Tax Compliance Outsourcing
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong tax research and presentation skills, including ability to translate complex tax analysis into a clear summary and conclusion
Comprehensive understanding of accounting for income taxes
Multilingual
Desired qualifications:
CPA and/or certification as tax specialist (in line with regional industry standards)
Relevant experience within Takeda or the global life science industry
Interest in Tax Technology
Public accounting experience
Tax knowledge of European countries
Preference for tax accounting/reporting
