Collins Aerospace is looking for a 2nd shift Survey and Repair Technician I for the Opa Locka, Florida facility. This position performs various overhaul, rework, repair, and associated operations on aircraft equipment and components in both standard and non-standard environments to maintain flow of work.
This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.
This position is not eligible for relocation
2nd Shift: Mon. - Fri. 2:30PM-11:00PM
Primary Responsibilities:
Inspects Landing Gear components for damage.
Records the condition / dimensions with the objective to determine repair and overhaul requirements, per overhaul manuals and customer requirements.
Use of calibrated precision measuring tools such as caliper, dial bores and thread gauges.
Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
Uses hand tools and power tools to polish and remove corrosion according to product specifications.
Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels, repairs as necessary.
Follows repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle time of repair and return.
Read and interpret blueprint drawings
May be required to complete an apprenticeship or training.
Basic Qualifications:
HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of landing gear experience is required.
Ability to read precision measuring tools. (caliper, dial bores and thread gauges).
Previous or current experience in Aviation or Landing gear repair industry.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Current or previous experience working on aircraft landing gears.
A&P license or aviation degree preferred.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, and Microsoft word)
Aircraft repair or manufacturing mechanic preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot and utilize measuring gauges & test equipment
