DescriptionThe SBB Workout Officer is responsible for the collections and workout of delinquent and charged off SBB loans. Will work closely with borrowers to better secure collateral, arrange repayment, and minimize risk to the bank.Location: 717 W Sprague Ave, Spokane, WA 99201Schedule: Monday thru Friday, Dayshift hours. Eligible for a hybrid schedule after initial training.Essential FunctionsMonitor SBB delinquencies and work with the assigned RM to ensure timely collections.Will recommend when an account should be transferred to Special Assets.Review and restructure credit and repayment terms, working to rehabilitate, to return them to good standing and minimize risk to the Bank.Work closely with borrowers to help them retain their collateral and return them to a performing status.Enforce loan documents as necessary, to recover the Bank's money.Work closely with management to document and communicate findings.Assess risk of planned approaches to credit, properly risk rate loans, and recommends charge offs when appropriate.Negotiate with attorneys, the management of debtor companies, representatives of other creditors, and lending personnel to secure appropriate repayment arrangements.Provide technical advice and assistance to lending personnel regarding expedient identification and evaluation of deteriorating loan situations in order to recognize problem loans early and minimize losses.Keep informed of the laws, regulations, and rulings governing negotiable instruments, insolvency, and bankruptcy.Maintains and interprets written policy for SBB collections.Uses problem solving techniques, judgment, experience, and job knowledge to solve both internal and external customer issues.Develops and implements strategies to recover charged off Small Business accounts and determine the most effective method of maximizing recovery.Works closely with SBB on improving their credit granting practices.Participates in special projects or duties as assigned.Performs compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.RequirementsCollege degree in Business, Finance, Administration or similar field required, or related equivalent professional experience.Ability to read and understand business and personal financial statements.Banking experience required, including experience in loan documentation and/or loan workout and recovery.Strong ability to identify material issues and facts and make independent and timely decisions. Able to work at a high level of productivity without close supervision to.Strong sense of creativity and initiative toward implementing workout plans which maximize recovery to the Bank.Strong detail orientation with high level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task, managing interruptions with multiple projects.Demonstrated ability to work independently in monitoring their assigned accounts and collaborate effectively with others.Salary Range: $60,873 - $91,361The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
