We are looking for a self-motivated Research Specialist. This position would support faculty by managing key projects and tasks that contribute to continued growth in experimental economics research. This can include but is not limited to work on gender, discrimination, fairness, and prosocial behavior. An enthusiastic, welcoming, inclusive personality is critical to this role.

Responsibilities*
Responsibilities
Providing support for managing, conducting, and running studies related to experimental economics research. This includes developing and designing methods and protocols to conduct the research. Lead the coordination of researchers across a range of universities and serve in supervisory roles for some aspects of the projects and in relationship to some members of the study team.
Partner with PI to analyze data and prepare content related to ongoing research and course material. This includes the potential to co-author or present materials in partnership with the PI
Collaborate with PI and have a critical role in the securing and managing internal and external research grants which includes assistance with preparing grant proposals and partnering with the finance office on the management of secured grant budgets.
Assist with accessibility-related tasks. This may include ensuring research-related materials are accessible or adapted to alternative formats, providing support with inaccessible research-related applications/software (data review/input, navigation, etc.), adjusting display settings on computers and monitors and other common technology devices, editing presentations and documents to ensure settings comply with PI's vision-related needs. The project manager may liaise with IT staff, campus accessibility experts, and other administrative staff in the performance of these duties.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
2 or more years experience in economic research, particularly those related to running (online and laboratory) experiments including the use of Qualtrics, Prolific and Amazon Mechanical Turk.
Strong experience with programming, including javascript, html, Python and/or related languages.
Experience drafting research papers and slides with LaTeX and PowerPoint.
Interest in helping to build up course material related to behavioral and experimental economics in the classroom.
Ability to provide technology support, such as computer and presentation setup, display zoom setting adjustment, manipulation of cords, etc.
Assistance with ensuring research-related materials are accessible or adapted to alternative formats. Support with inaccessible research-related applications/software (data review/input, navigation).
Desired Qualifications*
Master's degree or higher (or expected degree this academic year) in economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
4 or more years experience in economic research, particularly those related to running (online and laboratory) experiments including the use of Qualtrics, Prolific and Amazon Mechanical Turk.
Experience with grant proposal writing and management
Experience with IRBs
Work Schedule
The Department of Economics Office operates in a hybrid work environment. This position has an expectation of at least 3 days per week on-site. The department reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employees.

Additional Information

The decision about the level will be based on the overall experience of the selected candidate and equity within the department. High-level differences between the levels appear below and candidates with the potential to grow into a lead role are encouraged to apply.
The salary range for this position will be:
Intermediate Level (Required Qualifications): $55,000 to $66,000
Senior (Required & Desired Qualifications): $68,000 to $85,000
A higher salary may be possible for well-qualified candidates.
This position is term-limited for 4 years (until July 31, 2028)
