Job Summary
Dominion Energy’s Information Technology department is currently seeking a dynamic, detail oriented, Senior Programmer Analyst to support business applications in Customer Operations area. The successful candidates must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction in a multi tasked environment. Ability to quickly understand the business needs and be creative in providing solutions to support long term goals of the company will be a plus. Responsibilities include support, maintenance, and enhancements of different functions related to the Customer Information System and integrations in a cost-effective manner. Weekend and after-hour work will occasionally be required. The successful candidate will be required to carry a company provided cell phone and take part in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
5+ years directly related experience in programming or systems analysis.
Successful candidate will have extensive software development experience and knowledge/understanding of IT principles and development practices including:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Development Tools: TFS, Visual Studio is required
• Development experience using .Net technologies such as C# is required
• Development experience in COBOL and JCL is a plus
• Experience in relational database (SQL Server is preferred) design is required
• Experience and understanding of operational processes in utility domain is a plus
• Must be able to work in a professional team environment with limited direct supervision
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent customer service, and problem-solving skills
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics
