This position builds requested prototypes in compliance with Engineering specifications and timelines. Assists with organizing the overall prototype build schedules and required resources.Your profileEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates and builds all prototype requests and ensures customer delivery schedules are met.Reviews work orders, written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instruction to plan the layout and determine sequence of prototype operation.Designs fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.Sets up and operates metalworking machine tools such as lathe, milling machine, shaper, or grinder to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of parts to specifications.Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup production.Evaluates prototype components for feasibility of internal manufacturing; coordinates with external suppliers (e.g. machine shops) to prepare prototype components for manufacturing.Manages the relationship with internal requestors to ensure prototype components are built to meet scheduled deadlines.Interfaces with Engineers and other personnel regarding product information such as design, purpose and types of materials to be used to fabricate product.Responsible for maintaining an orderly work area and adhering to safety mandates, work practices and 6S standardsOrders routine supplies required to maintain operation of equipment assigned to work area.Operates test and measurement equipment to ensure the quality of prototype parts.Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications & ExperienceExperience in an automotive or manufacturing capacity preferred.Experience in machining and welding background preferred.Strong background in automotive and suspensions preferred.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.Possesses a stable work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimalsAbility to read and understand drawings and work instructions.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Possesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one's skills.Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times.Possesses good hand-eye coordination and is able to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.Possesses strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a hig
