JOB SUMMARY:The Surge Team is a mission driven emergency response force that supports medical emergencies in your community, your state, and the USA!The Surge Team is well-trained and available to support when the need arises. Surge Team members are responsible for general light duty warehouse work in support of providing medical supplies and medication during critical times.In addition to preparation drills, training, Surge Team members may be called upon to support mission events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:One scheduled 5-hour shift per month during Surge Day (7:00 am-12:00 am or 12:00 pm- 5:00 pm). You may elect to work up to one additional 5 hour shift once per quarter during Surge week. (Quarterly drill).Surge Team Members that complete their monthly duties are eligible for the quarterly Surge Team Stipend!Respond to routine activation drills in the required 90-minute time frame.Assist in the receipt of incoming product.Assist in the picking of product for shipment.Load product onto trailers with material handling equipment. (Don't worry, we will train you!)Wrap, scan, or process product and pallets.Operate Company warehouse equipment (once LSL certified) in a safe and reliable manner.Ensure warehouse cleanliness is maintained to LSL standards.Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB SPECIFICATIONSHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalency desired.Ideal for current students!Your curious nature to learn new things, and desire to support your community during emergencies.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISEBasic computer skills (Windows /Apple / Microsoft apps).Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation is a plus but not required.Experience utilizing RF Guns/Scanners is a plus but not required.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTSMust be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.Must have a valid driver's license for timely responding to drills or mission events.Adhere to appearance and uniform guidelines.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDSMust be able to safely lift 50 lbs. occasionally.Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach to complete tasks.Must be able to remain on your feet for prolonged periods of time.To operate warehouse equipment, you must meet the physical, hearing, and vision requirements to safely operate the machinery.?
WORKING CONDITIONSActivities occur both inside our climate-controlled warehouses and sometimes outside to check in truck drivers.Some of our work is in done freezers. LSL provides protective clothing to ensure employee safety.A lot goes on in a warehouse - hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving machinery, electrical current, and working in high places.
