Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager, Engineering to be located in our Allentown, PA. Factory. As Project Manager in the engineering department, you will manage the end-to-end activities on projects within the supply chain. The project manager is responsible for coordinating the activities and tasks to be executed for the project core team members in a matrix organization and communicating with the key stakeholders about the project progress execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the budget and cost-track projects.
Facilitate & lead meetings with appropriate stakeholders and periodic reporting of all projects.
Develop and maintain project timeline throughout the life cycle of the project.
Orchestrate execution of cross-functional technical teams by coordinating timelines, tracking end-to-end activities, and ensuring project is progressing as planned following BTB Stage-Gate process.
Perform risk assessments and follow up with project core team the mitigations actions.
Coordinate with plant operations and conduct weekly project meetings.
Coordinate with quality, R&D and engineering the different tests to ensure the quality of the deliverables of the project and generate the protocol testing report.
Assure the development and execution of a detailed commissioning plan and start-up process.
Coordinate work and schedule directly calling OEM
Organize evidence and escalation meeting with OEM.
Coordinate efforts with OEM, vendors, DM, etc. to close punch list items agreed after SAT or another validated after.
Manage the start-up of the project organizing the performance reviews, escalations process, collecting evidence of issues and asking for external technical support.
Accountable for project results and events until the technical acceptance or site assessment qualification.
Proficient in managing the company Project Management Tool for all the projects.
Manage project documentation throughout the project life cycle inside the Capital Management Tools.
Coordinate and capture with the different members of the project core team the lessons learnt of the project.
Manage the start-up and qualification of the project and ensure all the operational documentation is updated on the system like qualify checks, QMS, safety assessments, SOP for centerlines and change overs, bill of materials, manuals for machines, maintenance procedure among other defined by project specific.
Ensure the tracking and completion of the punch list items of the project.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Regulatory and Legal while leveraging external resources from the R&D Centers, co-manufacturers, and other 3rd party resources to deliver projects.
CAPEX PMO (only)
Development of an execution strategy, cost development, preliminary schedule development, evaluating project and engineering alternatives
Drive the due diligence process, oversee, and authorize RFP and resource procurement and equipment purchases, contractor bidding process, contractor selection, contract negotiation and procurement.
Work with internal & external design groups for all design specifications and drawing packages.
Develop & implement bid cycle for mechanical, electrical, piping and construction projects and lead bid events on site.
Ability to travel up to 40%
Qualifications
Key qualifications include:
Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred and/or related field experience.
5 years project management engineering experience in a high-speed consumer packaging industry (Beverage, Food or Pharmaceutical) highly preferred
Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to reach win-win solutions with internal and external partners.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to build relationships.
Demonstrated success in project management, problem solving, continuous improvement and achieving metrics.
Excellent follow-up skills with a customer focused approach
Strong computer skills with knowledge of Word and PowerPoint and experienced analysis capabilities utilizing Excel and Access
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
