THE POSITION
Are you a detail-oriented administrative support professional looking for an exciting career opportunity with growth potential? If so, look no further! The Pennsylvania State Police is actively seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide clerical support for Troop L, Jonestown.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a valued member of an amazing team of professionals, you will be responsible for typing reports and various correspondence. You will also t ranscribe taped interviews, taped communications conversations, and other audio recordings as requested. Other key responsibilities of the position include maintaining files, entering data into the Initial Crime Index computer system, and ordering expendable supplies from Troop Headquarters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621.00.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title);or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must have two or more years of experience with Microsoft Word.
You must have two years of experience with preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
You must have two years of experience with proofreading various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
You must have two years of experience working in a position that requires maintaining, updating, and purging files.
You must have two years of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
You must have two years of experience ordering supplies and services.
You must have two years of experience processing incoming and outgoing mail.
You must have two years of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying machine, and facsimile machine.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
You must pass criminal history and background investigations.
