  INTERNAL OAG EMPLOYEES ONLYAssists the Regional Director in performing management and supervisory activities in the support, operation, and planning of the region. Provides advanced to highly advanced and supervisory consultative work; provides technical and managerial assistance to program staff. The Child Support Regional Supervisor position shall report to an Office of the Attorney General work location at any Region Five Field Office, but subject to the needs of the Child Support Division. Regardless of primary duty point, the candidate must collaborate with relevant stakeholders throughout the region, and some travel to and from Austin and other worksites throughout the region for in-person meetings will be necessary. OAG employees enjoy excellent benefits along with tremendous opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.Assists the Regional Director with various operational and strategic initiatives such as reviewing and evaluating regional organizational structure and operating procedures and performance, defining, clarifying, and monitoring program goals and objectives, and overseeing reporting and program monitoringSupervises administrative support staff and oversees the effective and efficient operations of the officeCreates and facilitates various work groups to identify and implement improved methods of operation and/or special projects; follows up on effectiveness of implementation and performs data analysisMay serve as the Regional Ombudsman by addressing customer inquiries and concerns regarding the level of service provided; coordinates, documents, monitors, and tracks inquiries and responses to ensure customer service-related issues are addressed efficiently and effectively; develops and implements priorities and standards for an effective region-specific customer service program (internal/external) by monitoring and evaluating program effectivenessOversees the development and implementation of program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations, and monitors complianceOversees and participates in the development and implementation of new programs and initiativesPerforms related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work scheduleEnsures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected informationComplies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrityQualifications: Program Supervisor VI:Education: Graduation from high school or equivalentEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: full-time Child Support Program, management, customer service, or supervisoryExperience: Eight (8) additional years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: Child Support Program, management, or supervisoryKnowledge in applying principles of organizational behavior and development, management, and human resourcesSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in analyzing problems and identifying effective solutions and effectively leading and motivating staffSkill in developing and implementing operational plans and programsSkill in mediation and negotiationSkill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingAbility to eceive and respond positively to constructive feedbackAbility to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environmentAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG workspace within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travelAbility to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSAAbility to lift and relocate 30 lbs.Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 10% Program Supervisor VII: All the above minimum qualifications for a Program Supervisor VI, PLUS:Experience: Two (2) additional years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: Child Support Program, management, or supervisoryPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degreeEducation: graduation from an accredited graduate college or university with a masters degree in business administration (MBA) or related disciplineExperience: ManagementSkills: in both the creation and use of macro applications, typing and word processing, use and application of EXCEL and Power Point programs, and SAS softwareOther Language: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak SpanishTo apply for a job with the OAG, electronic applications can be submitted through CAPPS Recruit.
