New Jersey Resources is seeking an IT Project Manager II to be responsible for delivering strategic IT investments for New Jersey Resources’ (NJR) NEXT Program (NEXT). The role is responsible for leading the implementation of a strategic Work and Asset Management (WAM) solution for NJR’s gas utility field operations, midstream and home services business units. The WAM PM contributes to business opportunities based on a deep understanding of current and future state organizational business models and emerging Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Mobile Work Force Management (WFM) technologies. This leader collaborates with internal business users, IT peers, technology vendors, and industry leaders to plan, execute, and deploy innovative technology solutions that drive enhanced levels of business operations, accounting, finance, and risk performance.Basic FunctionResponsible for delivering strategic IT investments for New Jersey Resources’ (NJR) NEXT Program (NEXT). The role is responsible for leading the implementation of a strategic Work and Asset Management (WAM) solution for NJR’s gas utility field operations, midstream and home services business units. The WAM PM contributes to business opportunities based on a deep understanding of current and future state organizational business models and emerging Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Mobile Work Force Management (WFM) technologies. This leader collaborates with internal business users, IT peers, technology vendors, and industry leaders to plan, execute, and deploy innovative technology solutions that drive enhanced levels of business operations, accounting, finance, and risk performance.The WAM solution will include: Long-cycle and short-cycle work Inventory tracking and traceability, bar coding capabilities and GIS integration Automated work order processing and integration with mobile work force management, CRM and financial systems Deployment of a new mobile solution to provide streamlined view of information for field employees Major ResponsibilitiesBusiness Relationship Management Collaborates with senior leadership from business units, support service departments and IT to formulate business goals that are enabled by technology Works with the business, service and product providers and IT to identify opportunities and build a strategy to provide technology recommendations that meet or exceed business objectives Project Management Leads project team of both internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects Ensures that all project activities and deliverables are completed on-time, within scope and within budget Proactively manages resource plan to ensure resource availability and allocation Develops and maintains detailed project plans to track and report progress Produces regular status reports that are audience appropriate to communicate with the project team, PMO, sponsors and steering committee Uses appropriate verification techniques to track, manage and communicate changes in project scope, schedule and costs on a timely basis Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths Works with business stakeholders, IT, and project team to prioritize activities and deliverables based on agreed scope and requirements Measures and communicates project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques Reviews and updates RAID log on a regular basis with focus on proactively mitigating project risks, addressing issues and escalates to management as needed Establishes and maintains relationships with third parties/vendors during project execution Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation as defined by the NEXT Project Management Office Basic Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 or years of experience working within a Business and Technical Environment or 10+ years working within a Business and Technical Environment At least 5-10 years of demonstrated experience working as an IT project manager in a matrix environment, working with clients and 3 rd parties (internal or external) At least 5-10 years of IT application development, business analysis, and experience working with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and/or quality assurance Excellent project management skills. Demonstrated experience in organizing and initiating, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation, involving internal cross-functional personnel, contractors, and vendors using waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies. Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Other Required Competencies, Skills, Experience: Knowledge of the Gas Industry with demonstrated experience leading the implementation of an enterprise utility-focused Work and Asset Management/ Field Workforce Management system (ie Maximo, SAP, CGI, Salesforce/Click, Clevest) Experience collaborating, negotiating, presenting to leadership stakeholders Experience in estimating, forecasting, financial management, business case development and leading a competitive bid/RFP process Strong business acumen specifically within Utility Operations WAM system related experience and related processes, that enables the ability to develop strategy, process capabilities, enabling technologies, and associated investment governance Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization, both written and verbal communications as well as visualizations and associated tools Demonstrated experience implementing an enterprise wide utility operations-focused WAM solution Team player with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus. Strong situational analysis and decision making abilities. Ability to work with field employees and vendors as well as other disciplines. Excellent leadership and consultative skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity. Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices. Demonstrated experience and expertise with MS Project, Office 365, JIRA, Sharepoint Desired Skills, Competencies, Education or Experience: Graduate degree in Information Systems or related discipline Bachelors in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related technical subject PMI certification/training Experience leading in a matrix environment Regulated utility operations experience and knowledge a plus The above job description is reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limits the supervisor from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary.
