JOB REQUIREMENTS: Company Generac Power Systems Name EngineeringIntern - Engines - Start May/June 2024 Req # 63909 Employment TypeIntern Shift 1st Generac\'s Intern position is responsible to work withother engineers to fulfill special design requests on our engines andengine components. Under supervision of engineers, the intern willcreate definitions of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D crosssections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups and various electronic dataformats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly and service. Youwill also create Pro-E models, drawings and templates as well as makechanges to BOMs. Participants develop technical skills throughchallenging assignments and usage of technical tools. Essential Duties:Design, Validate and bring new products to market. Provide new productdevelopment support in the Industrial, Commercial, Residential and/orRetail generator or Power Tool product area including; creating andmaintaining CAD models, drawings and BOMS, supporting productdevelopment plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs),interfacing with internal company personnel, provide technical supportfor assigned projects. Specifies precise new product functionalrequirements; designs, tests and integrates standard, less complexcomponents to produce final designs; and evaluates the design\'s overalleffectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (riskanalysis), and safety. Designs, develops, and executes and evaluatesfitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validationplans for standard products and/or components; creates and reviewsmaterial part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborates withinternal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers andproduct specialists to optimize basic designs for manufacturability.Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering)systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.Supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meetingdesign inputs). Travels to other Generac facilities as necessary. Otherduties as assigned. Minimal Qualifications: Currently pursuing a BSdegree (preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or CivilEngineering) Understanding or working knowledge of Creo, and/or AutoCADexperience Microsoft Office Experience (Including Excel) Proficient oraland written communication and able to write clearly and succinctly toget a message across Ability to work 15-20 hours during the school yearand full-time during school breaks.
