Then we need you!  Sylvan Learning is looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, HAPPY, FLEXIBLE TEAM PLAYERS, to help our middle and high school students with their homework and prep for college entrance exams. We are looking for teachers/tutors with expertise in math through calculus, high school study skills and/or SAT/ACT prep. Skills and Abilities Required: • Knowledge of tablet computers (iPads) • Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible • Strong problem solving and customer service skills • Strong team player Availability and Commitment Required: * Preferred 10-30 hours per week, however accepting applicants who can commit to as low as 6 hours per week * Medical Insurance Options available for consistent 30 hours per week  * Tutoring hours: Monday - Thursday 3:30-7:30 and Saturday mornings, in center  * Ideal candidates are able to commit for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. Experience Required: * Knowledge of math and problem solving strategies * Knowledge of algebra, geometry and calculus concepts * 4 year degree in math, education, or a math related field (preferred) * College students working towards a degree in math, education or a math related field may apply * State or provincial teaching credentials (preferred, but not required) * Minimum of one or two years teaching/tutoring experience preferred * Please note we do accept applications from college students working towards an education and/or subject specific degree.
