  re:Cycle Reverse Logistics is looking for a Health & Safety Technical Manager for its Reverse Logistics operation based in Greencastle, PA. Our mission is to manage and scale information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services for used electronics and electronic equipment (UEEE) through secure and environmentally sustainable practices supporting asset recovery, reuse, recycling, and other circular economy initiatives.

  The Health & Safety team has responsibility for architecting and implementing re:Cycle Reverse Logistics global environmental and safety programs. This includes defining and implementing risk management and compliance systems and driving their continuous improvement; setting and refining global policies and procedures; overseeing the development of standards, tools, auditing and metrics, and employee training; ensuring effective engagement by environmental and health & safety teams on global initiatives, including those that are part of Amazon’s ambitious sustainability goals; providing specialist expertise; and engaging with all re:Cycle Reverse Logistics business units to provide scalable and effective environmental and health & safety compliance strategies that support current and future business objectives while ensuring employee safety and compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations.

  We're expanding the Health and Safety Technical Services team and need a talented professional to lead a new business team that oversees safety technical services and programs to support the re:Cycle Reverse Logistics business needs. The Health & Safety Technical Manager will report to the re:Cycle Reverse Logistics Sr. Manager of Operations with a strong focus on the safe operations at the sites in the Americas region. Additionally, the candidate is expected to ensure compliance of business operations for all EHS tasks, processes, and operations performed at the operations sites, construction sites, and new business lines.

  Key job responsibilities

  Set the strategy for technical safety services and programs to re:Cycle Reverse Logistics by ensuring compliance against regulations and standards both internally and externally.

  Partner with multiple stakeholders, including operations leaders, to accept audit findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are compliant with policy.

  Delivering recommendations and risk interpretations in a clear, concise and audience-specific format to stakeholders, business customers and senior leadership.

  Lead and participate in compliance audits for the business.

  Partner with H&S Legal, AWS H&S programs teams, and other business partner teams under Amazon to create a continuous loop of feedback to ensure the customer and business are supported and improve existing programs, systems, and mechanisms.

  Establishing credibility and maintaining strong working relationships with groups involved with compliance matters.

  Understand Health and Safety regulatory requirements and be able to build compliance systems and programs around these requirements.

  Closely coordinate with RRL Health and Safety team and stakeholders’ teams to identify, evaluate and mitigate identified hazards within work processes and internal business to business operations

  Be passionate about using data and scientific literature to facilitate and drive business decisions.

  Greencastle, PA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related field of study or 4+ years of equivalent working experience.

  8+ years of occupational safety and health or equivalent experience

  4+ years of experience leading teams and managing people

  Preferred Qualifications

  Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with senior leaders

  Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment

  Experience leading change across multiple sites/locations and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization.

  Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  Strong interpersonal skills: excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels.

  Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.

  Strong analytical skills with project management experience.

  Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.

  Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.

  Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.

  Travel estimated at 25% across the US and Internationally.
