Job DetailsJob LocationWooster - Wooster, OH Job Category4220 - Janitors and building cleanersDescriptionThe Custodian performs all tasks necessary to properly maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the plant office area, restrooms, meeting rooms, and break rooms. The Custodian is primarily responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of the overall plant common area, workingas an individual contributor to manage day-to-day cleaning tasks to provide a clean working environment in the plant.PRINCIPAL DUTIESClean and service restrooms, offices & lunchroomsSweep, vacuum and mop floors and stairwaysGather and dispose of rubbish and waste materials.Observe the plant office, restroom and lunch room areas appearance and condition; report needed repairs, safety hazards, or other conditions that need the attention of either maintenance or outside vendorsScrub, sanitize, and polish floors using powered machines equipped with rotating brushesMaintain an inventory of cleaning and toiletry suppliesPerform related work as assignedMaintain records as requiredEXPECTED SKILLSAnalytical and applied problem solving (troubleshooting) skillsComputer literateGood written and verbal communication skillsGood personal organizational skillsFollow material safety and data sheets for cleaning chemicals utilizedExhibit exemplary safety habits in all work assignments (e.g. using proper PPE)Strictly adhere to applicable hygiene standards for all work areasProperly communicate areas being maintained by using appropriate warning signsGENERAL COMPETENCIESDependability: Follows the direction of the Administrative Manager and provides accountability for performance of key responsibilities: takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; commits time necessary to reach goals; meets deadlines or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Problem-Solving: Utilizes creative talents and skills to successfully resolve problems; develops solutions that work; works committedly with others to solve problems and resolve situations.Attendance/Punctuality: Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments prepared and on time.
