Job Summary This position assembles generator sets and sub-assemblies that include both standard and non-standard product lines. This will require using hand and power tools and following quality and procedural techniques. This will also include contributing to improving processes, contributing to line efficiency, improving different areas of the assembly line, and other tasks given by the Line Lead or supervisor. Job Functions (Essential) Use work instructions, drawings, schematics and equipment used to perform assembly duties of medium complexity in a wider level of work areas (i.e. Line 1 and Large Assembly). Cross train in multiple assembly areas and help in other areas based on necessity. Assist in training new employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work. Develop and maintain an understanding of the products assembled and continuous learning of the principles, practices and processes of their job as changes require. Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Contributes to improving processes, lead times and through-put. Recognize obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality. Responsible for following safety and environmental procedures and established processes and policies. Resolve problems with assistance from supervisors depending on the level and complexity Provide input on continuous improvement opportunities within the department Other tasks as assigned by lead or supervisor Promote a compliance culture in the area of responsibility, and live the letter and spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct Posting Title: Assembler 2 Location: MTU Onsite Energy (Mankato, MN) Functional Area: Production FLSA Code: Non-Exempt Employment Type: OED - Non-Exempt Qualifications: Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Required: 2 years of assembly experience with heavy duty equipment or 2 years of applicable mechanical experience Ability to meet Assembly 1 competency assessment Good ability to access information needed with SAP system Good ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables Good ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment Good ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates proficiency in both oral and written communication as well as communicate in a team environment Quality and detail orientation and good organizational skills Good ability to learn and adapt to changing technology Good ability to use a variety of hand and power tools Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system Large equipment industrial experience Good mechanical skills Work Environment: Work Environment Work Conditions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee may also be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
