Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to take on the role of Junior Tax Accountant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our tax team by performing various administrative tasks related to S&U tax. This is a deadline driven environment as strong analytical skills, attention to detail and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
Receives and reviews invoices daily, verifying that the correct tax was applied, and accruing tax when necessary. This process will require constant communication with other departments (i.e. AP, transportation, payroll.)
Assist the tax manager with data gathering and invoices for various tax audits.
Assist with the compilation of data and the preparation of various simple tax returns and fillings including bag fee, excise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts, and miscellaneous fees. Coordinate the remittance of tax payments and ensure tax payments are timely.
Process and remit business license applications for initial licensing and renewals. Maintain database of existing licenses and expirations to timely file for renewals. Update the requirements for additional licenses as necessary.
Prepare and maintain exemption certificates to be issued to vendors.
Duties may change; may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
Participate in special projects as required.
Assist operating companies with all tax matters and licensing.
Attend relevant training programs.

Currently has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Associate degree with up to two years of related or equivalentcombination of experience and instruction.Required Knowledge:
Invoice processing experience preferred.
Previous AP experience preferred.
Experience working with multiple entities preferred (not required).
Must have strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook and strong Excel.
Ability to prioritize and manage various projects and able to work under pressure.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years & experience in accounts payable, handling invoice processing, or similar role.Skill and Ability:

Compensation
The wage for this position is based on many factors such as role requirements, skill set, years of experience and other organizational needs. The estimated range is $49,000 - $53,000 per year.
