  How you'll make an impact:

  In this role, you will join our Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) team as part of our Unity Lab Services (ULS) brand, which provides integrated solutions, instrument, and enterprise services to our valued customers.

  Field Service Engineers are considered “remote” colleagues since they commute daily to customer sites to provide service. As such, Field Service Engineers are provided with a Fleet vehicle to allow for daily travel to multiple customer locations in their defined service area. Some overnight travel will be expected to service customers up to 10%, and participate in training programs.

  You will handle various aspects of field service support and customer relationships within our Laboratory Equipment (LE) division. You will provide advanced services on laboratory equipment, including repairs, preventative maintenance, installation, and instrument qualifications, as well as being an advocate for Thermo Fisher Scientific.

  What you'll do:

  Repair, install, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment products including incubators, centrifuges, cold storage (refrigerators and freezers), and other equipment as needed

  Schedules and completes detailed preventative maintenance and corrective service to ensure peak uptime of customer equipment

  Provide onsite service training to Biomedical Engineering Technicians (BMET) or advanced operators

  Submit expenses and manage trunk stock inventory in a timely and accurate manner

  Document daily service actions through the company work order database

  Maintains courteous and knowledgeable communication with customers to ensure alignment of all aspects of the service events (status, cost, scheduling, etc.)

  How will you get there?

  Education

  Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering or High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 years of related experience

  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Electronics preferred

  EPA Certification preferred

  Accredited trade school certification- HVAC/R or Electronic Technician preferred.

  Experience

  A minimum of 3 years of experience in field service, Depot repair, manufacturing facilities or equivalent, servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment, etc.

  Experience in customer-facing positions preferred.

  Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical background preferred, refrigeration experience a plus

  Experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, and temperature devices, including hands-on refrigeration experience is preferred

  Ability to operate computers, smartphones, and related software efficiently

  Effective interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize multiple priorities with minimal direction

  Ability to work independently diagnosing and solving using schematics, diagrams, service manuals, and other technical resources

  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  Strong Customer Focus – builds positive relationships and delivers customer-centric service

  Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance, and carry 25-30 Lbs. continuously throughout the day

  Ability to drive frequently within the territory and travel overnight if required

  Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving
