Position: Systems Engineer Location: Cincinnati/Hybrid. Description: Expanding Company seeks Systems Engineer to occupy a specialized position. This is a higher level supporting role. May take on entire wiring interface or structural design for one or more projects. May have customer and supplier interaction as relates to the portions of the project they are supporting. General Description Specialized position in avionics integration. Higher level supporting role. An expert on several avionics systems and has some experience with a wide variety of avionics systems. Has at least a high level understanding of all aspects of avionics integration (mechanical, electrical, and functional). Can plan work and the work of others to meet project requirements May take on entire wiring interface or structural design for one or more projects. May have customer and supplier interaction as relates to the portions of the project they are supporting. Primary Responsibilities Create system designs for avionics systems integration into transport and regional category aircraft Generate and/or work with CAD department to create wiring diagrams and installation drawings utilizing AutoCAD or other drawing software Write engineering orders, installation instructions, test procedures and other support and certification documentation Create customer requested STC deviation engineering packages Handle multiple projects concurrently Complete tasks on schedule and within budget. Perform engineering and research in sometimes remote environments Provide engineering support for incorporation of changes for projects Provide engineering support to modification teams Report to Manager of Engineering Approximately 10-20% travel Preferred Qualifications B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace) or equivalent experience Two years minimum experience with avionics integration design projects Knowledge of the FAR’s and other regulatory guidelines a plus Hands-on experience operating or performing modifications on aircraft a plus Enjoys the challenges of working projects that vary greatly and have distinct potential to require significant changes or alterations in mid-stream, remaining flexible and adaptable Ability to interact with and maintain external relationships with customers, including airlines, DOD, OEMs, vendors, and engineering partners; and internal relationships with manufacturing and modification teams Required Requires working knowledge of and experience with design methodologies and practices. Must be able to work either alone or as part of a team to solve problems. Must be a self-starter with the ability to generate alternative ideas. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with and maintain external relationships with customers, including airlines, DoD, OEMs, vendors, engineering partners, and internal relationships with manufacturing and installation modification teams. Must be willing to submit to the company’s background verification and drug test requirements. Must pass 10-year background verification and submit to company’s DOT/FAA Part 145 Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program Must be legally able to work in USA and supply required supporting documentation for the I-9 Form.
