Summary About the position: This position is located at the Tomodachi Cafe in the Misawa Collocated Club, 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB Japan. This is a Flexible employment category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week, but may work up to 40 hours a week depending on the needs of the facility. Military Spouse Preference IS NOT lost if selected for this position. This position is NOT eligible to receive SOFA status. Responsibilities Operates full service Espresso Bar. Prepares a wide range of drinks including but not limited to lattes, espressos, Americanos, and cappuccinos by selecting the proper grind of the coffee shot and following set recipes for each individual variation of drink. Must be able to follow basic cappuccino requirement of each type drink but not limited to preheating the portafilter, knowing the difference in grinds of coffee, knowing how long should a shot take to brew into cup, preheating the cup, how to "pull" and "tamp" into the portafilter, difference in frothing and steaming milk, and able to know difference and relay information to customers on the differences in drink choices. Sets up Cappuccino corner for operation and obtains cash bank. Maintains neat and clean work area. Washes cappuccino bar equipment and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists supervisor on duty as necessary. Operates a cash register, rings-up sales, accepts payment, and processes change. Will be required to prepare documentation for cash funds availability. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Effort: Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Incumbents are subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
