Students in this role will learn both transportation operations and analytics and have an opportunity to deliver real results to the organization, while gaining valuable industry experience. This Co-Op will roughly run January 2024 through summer break. Students will need availability throughout the designated time period.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for tracking all freight through the delivery process.Accountable for all service KPI's; Perform analysis on performance trends.Resolve chronic service and capacity issues; ensure carriers are performing to expectations and maintain corrective action plans for those that are not. Proactively identify problems and swiftly work with senior management to implement the appropriate solution.Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select most cost-effective method of delivery.Be the liaison between the transportation department and other internal departments.Coordinate and review daily routing for improvement opportunities.Work closely with customer service to adjust deliveries when requested by customers.Coordinate schedules for various warehouse and plant shipping and receiving docks.Assist in making deliver appointments to ensure a delivery time is available after a carrier has been assigned a shipment.Work in conjunction with the operations manager to contain rate and accessorial charges.Manage daily delivery programs and suggest updated carrier commitment levels., especially during seasonal and customer peaks.Ensure that the plan is in accordance with all the company's strategies, goals, objectives, and procedures while meeting its financial commitments.Manage the primary activities of the deployment and delivery cycle including, planning (load building and mode/carrier selection), execution (tendering, track trace and scheduling), and reporting (performance to budget, compliance).Spreading Joy Through Food!Here at Utz, we have a passion for food that our associates enjoy creating, our consumers love, and our customers choose.  Our renowned family of brands includes Utz, Golden Flake, Good Health, TGI Friday's, On the Border, Bachman, and Zapp's.  We provide a supportive, caring and inclusive environment that offers opportunities for career growth and advancement.
