As a co-op in the Immunology Translational Sciences group you will be a member of a team dedicated to the research and development of new therapeutics for auto-immune disorders. The successful applicants will be assigned a scientific mentor and have the opportunity to conduct research in our gastrointestinal/IBD team, as well as get exposure to teams working in rheumatology and dermatological inflammatory diseases. Candidates will have their own project developed jointly with their mentor and will be expected to present the results of their work at the end of the internship. The goal of the program is to provide undergraduate students experience in working in large pharmaceutical R&D and to gain a basic understanding of the science of novel drug development and clinical implementation. Students will also receive detailed training on the technology platforms (e.g., ELISA, PCR, RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, cell culture, IHC) and analytical methods required for their project. This role involves extensive team matrix interactions with colleagues from a number of different disciplines.
