What Production Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Responsible for Production Operations, Maintenance, Plant Engineering, Safety, Quality Control, Scheduling, Accounting, and Employees. Supervises plant personnel directly and through subordinate managers and/or supervisors.Responsible for making sure techs pick up the bulk activity and perform nightly product drop offs to AirNet and United Cargo. (Supervisor can also perform these driving tasks).Prepares and maintains long- and short-range plans.Promotes good relations with community, government agencies, customers, and union representatives.Conducts or participates in conduct of labor negotiations and administers wage, salary, and bonus programs in accordance with corporate policies.Reviews, evaluates, and approves promotion and transfer of exempt personnelSchedule:Day Shift Supervisor (10 Hour Shifts) 09:30 PM to 20:00 PM Saturday – Tuesday.Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedule or hours based on business need..
Responsibilities
Handles planning and implementation of I-123 Iodine capsules in a pharmaceutical manufacturing cGMP production environment. Communicate activities to the manufacturing team to meet assigned manufacturing goals; directs the work activities of manufacturing technicians including shift assignments, safety, cGMP compliance and training programs. Ability to work with radiation and understand the hazards associated with this processParticipates with other manufacturing management staff in the planning and implementation of work schedules, equipment and materials needs, and staffing requirements to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.Ensures efficient use of human resources, by regularly monitoring work activities, setting performance expectations, and measuring results, and providing feedback to employees daily.Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies, procedures and programs that enhance overall effectiveness of the operating unit.Ensures that required training for specific work activities are completed for all shift staff; maintain up-to-date training records.Tracks and reports on manufacturing job duties such as safety incidents, quality issues and throughput measures.Sets expectations for communications between supporting departments and among manufacturing techs to facilitate continuous productivity.Assists in troubleshooting and problem-solving when process or people problems arise; ensure timely resolution.Focuses on high safety performance, high quality performance, and high productivity performance.Conducts 1 On 1 check points with each tech on your team. Handles performance discussions and writing at the necessary times through the year. This would include but not limited to Our Time To Talk (OTTT) discussions #1,2,3 and year end.Manages time sheets to be completed accurately, ability to coordinate all time off requests.Other duties as assignedQualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. BA/BS degree in a science or business related major or equivalent education and work experience strongly preferredA minimum of 2+ years related work experience (GMP pharmaceutical or chemical processing experience) requiredStrong organizational and planning skillsStrong interpersonal skills with subordinates as well as peers and superiorsExcellent understanding of basic chemical plant operationsLeadership skills and experience highly desirableExperience with LEAN, 6 SIGMA, and 5S highly desirableComfortable regularly engaging in restricted manufacturing area activities. Hazardous environment with risk of exposure to chemicals, fumes, and heat and coldAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; ability to crawl, climb, read, twist torso, and stand for long periods of timeDemonstrated success in managing people and leading a teamStrong communication skillsAbility to learn and understand on a practical level all components of the production process; mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; mature interpersonal skills; working knowledge of PC and Microsoft office suite of software.Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hands and tools to operate equipment. Ability to read sufficient to understand SOPs; ability to write sufficient to fill out documentation and write about events clearly and concisely.
