Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aInventory Manager to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. This position plans, directs, coordinates and develops effective, time-sensitive and cost-effective processes. Functions reporting to the Inventory Manager include Stockroom, Receiving and Inventory Control. The emphasis is on multi-tasking and adjusting to changing priorities, efficiently communicating with your staff and ensuring the start up and end of day production activities, administration of safety practices, new employee training and team productivity.
What Will You Do?
Reviews the daily schedule and prioritizes jobs to ensure orders are ready per Stockroom schedule.
Provides leadership to direct staff including all aspects of supervision for staff; organizes work assignments and anticipates future work needs.
Maintains daily forklift check logs. Ensures that all forklift safety procedures are adhered to and keeps track of all maintenance/mechanical repairs for each lift.
Utilize data driven process improvement methods to increase safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Develop and execute cascaded 1 year strategy using the playing to win method.
Create and execute annual budget for multiple departments/functions.
Run Daily Performance Meeting’s relevant to department.
Drive root cause corrective actions in relation to material variances and material request forms within team
Improve material request form lead time using the PDCA methodology.
Implement and maintain an annual re-slotting program in relation to raw material lead time and space constraints.
Monitor and improve employee pick rate on a department level.
Qualifications
Required Skills
+ + 4-6 years of experience in Inventory Management, preferably in a Manufacturing/Production Warehouse environment; College degree desired.
Thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment, juggle multiple and changing priorities, react to change yet refocus quickly on the priorities at hand.
Exhibit a service orientation with a “YES”, can do attitude for creating and implementing solutions. Exhibit high energy, drive and discipline to do whatever is necessary even if the task is less desirable.
Data driven individual who can process and analyze large amounts of data.
Prior supervisory experience. Ability to provide effective work direction and promote respect amongst employees.
Detail-oriented: able to multi-task effectively and must be able to handle a fast-paced environment without losing focus on details.
Demonstrated ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Proven self-starter with a passion for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated time management skills, along with high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated communication skills (verbal & written) to interface with workers, supervisors, vendors and other stakeholders.
Ability to use Smartsheets, Excel, Word, email and associated computer functions.
Understanding of Work Orders, Bill of materials, and pick lists.
Ability to stand for long periods of time; Ability to lift up to 40 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
Prior ERP/WMS experience
