We specialize in providing engineering and technical services in the areas of aero/space propulsion and power test facilities to NASA Glenn.HX5 Sierra, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.ResponsibilitiesThis individual will perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.Install or repair a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.Use a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.May design, develop, or construct major units, devices, or equipment; may conduct tests or experiments; may analyze results and may redesign or modify equipment to improve performance and report results.From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), may develop designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as research instruments or special purpose circuitry.May analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; may select from several possible design layouts; may calculate design data; and may prepare layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design.May plan or assist in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance; may determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; may conduct tests using all types of instruments; may analyze and evaluate test results and may prepare reports on findings and make recommendations.QualificationsThis individual must have a minimum of 4 years' working experience as a Journeyman Level Electrician and completed a 4 year apprenticeship program or vocational trades training, or equivalent training and experience combined.
