In addition to advancing their own initiatives, Staff Process Engineers are expected to take on a mentoring role for the unit process engineers, deploying new technologies and growing the site process engineering competency.Responsibilities* Mentorship competency development of unit process engineers.* Develop and sustain process engineering toolsets and practices for business unit process engineers.* Lead technology deployment opportunities.* Initiate and advance capital improvement projects through gated development.* Lead business unit engineers through non-routine and complex troubleshooting.* Support and potentially lead process safety incident investigations.Qualifications* Senior process engineer with 10+ years experience in refining or related petrochemical industry.* Strong interpersonal skills in a team setting with emphasis on the ability to guide and mentor peers on complex topics.* Process unit modeling such as Hysys, Petrosim, proii, HTRI, etc. with sufficient command to train peers on these platforms.* Experience with leading or supporting project development through gated process.Preferred Qualifications* Broad refinery experience with competency spread across multiple refinery technologies with emphasis on heavy oil conversion FCC and Coking.* Strong modeling skills using advanced features of Hysys or Petrosim platforms to facilitate automation of toolsets.* Focus on mentoring of process engineering peers, but ability to develop relationships and drive improvement with field operations.* Experience managing external engineering contractors or other corporate sites.About CenovusCenovus is a Canadian-based integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary.
