Department/Group Description:
As a Senior Financial Accounting Analyst in Disney Entertainment (DE), you will help craft Disney’s future in the company’s newest and most multifaceted segment. DE brings together the Company’s outstanding product, technology, and commercialization teams into one global organization. DE is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the content engines. DE also leads operations of streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Act as an accounting authority for ancillary episodic content licensed to Hulu
Partner with content valuation teams to supervise and record imputed license fees for ancillary episodic content licensed to Hulu
Assist with intercompany eliminations for ancillary episodic content and certain domestic and international originals licensed to Hulu
Maintain robust audit trail for imputed license fees to support information requests from PwC, Management Audit, SoX, and Talent Audit
Partner with Disney General Entertainment Content (e.g., ABC Signature, 20th Television, etc.) and Film Studio (e.g., Searchlight) producer groups to ensure accurate amortization, participation, and residual expenses are recorded on a quarterly basis in accordance with the Company’s cost allocation models
Assist with earned cash reporting for the imputed license fees to ensure talent is accurately compensated
Partner with Hulu Finance to ensure amortization, participation, and residual expense forecasts are updated accurately and timely
Support preparation and presentation of Hulu P&L and Balance Sheet analyses
Assist in resolving segment and enterprise reporting inquiries concerning fluctuations and variances as vital
Partner with Tax department to ensure accounting entries support their legal entity reporting obligations and Tax return preparation for both domestic and international legal entities
Ad hoc projects as needed
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
2+ years in a corporate finance / business analytics role (ad sales experience is a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is a plus
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $101,800.00-$124,400.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
