What you can expect
The incumbent will be responsible forensuring the efficient and effective operation of slurry manufacturing equipment at all times in order to achieve production daily targets. Duties will include the following:
Ensuring that tooling or cleaning equipment is clean and packed in an orderly manner
Ensuring that raw materials are available before starting any batch and also verifying the washwater to be added
Reporting to and co-operating with maintenance regarding all breakdowns to minimise downtime
Recording problems and suggestions in the shift report for continuous improvement
Treating and attending to spillages, stoppages, or build-ups immediately and correctly
Regularly completing data capturing in the MRP system
Doing In-process checks and recording them regularly as specified in Work instructions
Assisting with stock counts and cycle counts
Executing finer plans for Mixing / Milling configuration whereby decision making is involves each operator which is based on a broader plan
Mixing batches of slurries that are at different steps of the process
Milling batches of slurry that have different milling characteristics simultaneously
Handing over information on different batches to one another during the shifts in addition to normal end of the shifts
Recalculating the exact amount of material to be added using the actual Leco from SAP
Ensuring that the slurry will pass Mass Balance by optimising the use of available batch water to rinse equipment and making decisions regarding the use of Mill Rinse Drum
Executing the above calculation when using different lot numbers of the same material in a batch
Also, when PH adjustments are done the equivalent amount of water is deducted to ensure the slurry comes out at expected Leco
Accurately document Mill Rinse Drums and send samples to the Lab for analysis
