  Collins is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer with a current active US Government security clearance. In this role you will be ready to d ive into a challenging yet rewarding career opportunity as a Quality Engineer in our Engineered Polymer Products group in Jacksonville, Florida, where you’ll play a crucial role in the development and manufacture of submarine technologies.   This position is working onsite and located at our facility on Blount Island in Jacksonville FL.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.

  Complete and maintain customer documentation.

  Perform product, process, and work instruction audits.

  Interface with all levels of management and coworkers to resolve technical/quality issues related to internal and external product and process quality performance.

  Be a voice of the customer in a manufacturing setting.

  Review and approve new and revised customer contracts.

  Serve as subject matter expert in matters related to assigned program(s).

  Monitor and process material identified as defective from identification through disposition.

  Dimensional verification of assigned finished material.

  Willing to support all areas as needed.

  Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

  Must be able to read, understand and apply work instructions.

  Able to be flexible around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.

  Must have advanced knowledge of GD&T, (minimum 3+ years experience).

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Coordinate Measuring Machine / Laser Tracking Experience a huge plus.

  Demonstrated effective Problem-Solving skill set.

  Ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data.

  Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  Excellent computer skills.

  Experience in SAP.

  Experience in a AS9100 certified environment or similar operating system certifications (IATF16949, ISO-9001-2015, etc).

  Machining center experience, composite machining experience a plus.

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
