Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join an established and growingmulti-national mining engineering team. As the selected candidate, you willprovide technical and business development support for projects across theUnited States (US), Canada, Chile, and other locations. The positionmay be located in any of our US offices.
In this position, you will provide geotechnical engineering on surfacemining projects, including tailings facilities and open pits. Project workmay also include mine reclamation engineering and other environmental projectssuch as sediment remediation, waterfront structures, or in situsolidification and stabilization depending on qualifications. Work will entaila mixture of feasibility studies, design, construction qualityassurance, and business development. This is a great opportunity for asenior or principal engineer to join a team and offer mentorship to ourdiverse group of geotechnical engineers while working on large and complexprojects across the US and around the world.
Role accountabilities:Join our Mining Sector Team as a key participantProvide technical leadership to engineering teamsPerform geotechnical engineering reviews and provide key input on criticalprojectsApply engineering principles to develop effective solutionsMentor and develop mid-level and junior staffIdentify and pursue business growth opportunitiesAct as or become Engineer of Record on appropriate projectsPreferred technical proficiencies:Mine high wall investigations and slope stability analysisMine tailings dam siting, design and evaluations including material stackdesign and operation and maintenanceField and laboratory geotechnical testing methods, techniques, and resultsinterpretationGeotechnical investigation, monitoring methods and techniquesConstruction monitoring, testing and documentationSoft-ground mechanics and stabilization techniques Strong written and verbalcommunicationProficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPointQualifications & Experience:
