Duties:The Clinical Dietitian Health Promotion program to include but are not limitedto the following:* Plan and organize work of considerable difficulty and responsibility underminimal supervision.* Participate in research and performance improvement studies.* Conduct nutrition assessment/evaluation which includes nutrient intake,activity level, appetite, intake of vitamins, minerals, nutritionalsupplements, and other complimentary alternative medicine usage, weighthistory, taste changes, feeding problems, food intolerance, food-druginteractions, unhealthy diet behaviors, socioeconomic and ethnicbackground, documented medical history, current diagnoses and medicaltreatment modalities, current drug therapy, and clinical signs and symptoms of* Apply the basic principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
Performance Requirements:* Apply principles and practices of clinical dietetics and medical nutritiontherapy in order to plan, develop, and independently coordinate medicalnutrition therapy intervention, interdisciplinary care plans, andnutrition education activities.* Conduct studies, analysis, and document findings to evaluate staff,food, nutrition supplements/feeding or meal alternatives and therapies,supplies, equipment, and service in order to improve the efficiency of theoper* Apply current food service systems management, principles, and practiceswithin a healthcare environment.* Conduct annual installation Military Nutrition Environment Assessment Tool(M-NEAT) as direct by Air Force Medical Operation Association (AFMOA).* Chair Nutrition Environment and Operation Supplement Safety Working Groups(NEWG/OPSSWG).* Prepare and provide briefings on the nutritional environment of theinstallation to members of leadership up to, and including, theinstallation commander.* Develop nutrition interventions in collaboration with units that requestunit-specific services.Position Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree. Graduate from a college or universityaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition andDietetics (ACEND) or completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics(DPD) accredited by the ACEND, or completion of a post- Baccalaureatedegree Dietetic Internship Program of supervised practice (for a minimum of1200 hours) accredited by ACEND. In addition, the HCW shall also completethe online Air Force Health Promotion (HP) Orientation within six (6)months of hire/placement and attend the in-residence Air Force HP Workshopwithin 18 months of hire/placement.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in wellness, diet therapy,sports nutrition or nutrition education.
