Reg/Spec Ed. Para-Pro/Instructional Assistant- Traditional schoolyear position. Must have two (2) year degree or higher or 60 collegecredit hours or a passing score on the specialized test (Para-pro,WorkKeys, ect). Computer knowledge preferred but not required. Abilityto read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently. Ability toassist teacher in oral assessment of home language level. Directsindividual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning ofmaterial or skills initially introduced by the teacher. Coordinates withthe teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material orskills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students,their needs, interest, and abilities. Supervises independent study,enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.Evaluates notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and makeupwork, as assigned by the teacher. Directs large group activities such asdrill work, reading aloud, and other language enrichment activities.Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers, scores, and records such achievement and diagnostic testsas the teacher recommends for individual students. Directs individualstudents or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materialor skills initially introduced by the teacher.
Coordinates with the teacher in devising special strategies forreinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding ofindividual students, their needs, interest, and abilities.
Supervises independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set upand assigned by the teacher.
Evaluates notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and makeupwork, as assigned by the teacher.
Directs large group activities such as drill work, reading aloud, andother language enrichment activities.
Provides information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in theabsence of the regular teacher.
Orients the regular teacher to any problem or special information aboutan individual student.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality ofinformation about students.
Maintains cooperative relations with others.
Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.\\MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED.
Computer knowledge preferred but not required.
Ability to assist teacher in oral assessment of Home Language level.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) year degree or actively pursuing post- secondary education
Preferred ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently(preferred).
