About Principal UX Designer

  The M365 Core Design Studio is looking for a Principal Designer who can help us shape the future of human productivity enabled by AI on a global scale.   The ideal candidate has a well-established history of crafting outstanding design solutions, possess a deep enthusiasm for solving complex challenges, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders and end-users. The role requires a professional who can articulate design strategies, form partnerships, drive research, and bring the design vision to reality. Key skills include strategic thinking, advanced technical skills, and leadership abilities.

  Responsibilities

  Work with multidisciplinary and cross-product teams to deliver beautiful end-to-end user experiences across multiple screens.

  Drive a variety of design sprints and jam sessions with v-team partners.

  Design systems thinker/driver.

  Design according to high-quality standards, follow processes and deliver on schedule.

  Work within and help evolve design processes that promote collaboration, transparency, and agility.

  Actively mentoring and leading other designers in the team.

  Communicate clear and compelling ideas to a wide range of key stakeholders using presentations, reviews, and documentation.

  Plan, execute, and report on user research.

  Actively and responsibly championing customers, using direct feedback, user research, industry knowledge, and quantitative metrics to enhance and optimize user experiences.

  Required Qualifications:

  +8 years of hands-on interaction design experience for software OS or large-scale service, including experience with information architecture, interaction design user research, and usability testing.  

  A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Interface Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Architecture, or equivalent experience. 

  Expertise in creating a variety of interaction design documents including storyboarding, wireframing, creating design specifications and guidelines, user scenarios, task flows, conceptual models, competitor analysis, heuristic analysis, and annotated wireframes.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  8+ years of work-related experience required.

  Experience leading projects, teams, and products end-2-end with multidisciplinary partners.

  Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications.

  Deep understanding of user-centered design and systems thinking. The ability to step back and see a project’s larger ecosystem, with a focus on solutions that improve not just one feature but the entire user flow.

  Strong interaction skills with the ability to design quality graphical user interfaces.

  Ability to quickly produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, and other artefacts.

  Ability to create information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and screen flows.

  Strong presentation and storytelling skills to present your solutions to key partners and leadership.

  Ability to present cohesive design approaches to a non-design audience (including business, product, and technology teams).

  Effective communication and collaboration skills are required. Strong communication and active listening skills, with an ability to build and develop close, trusting relationships.

  Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines

  Ability to self-motivate under constant deadline constraints.

  Proficiency in current design software is a must.

  You should have a current understanding of modern technology, know the constraints, be willing to push the limits and apply creative solutions that result in great user experience.

  Strong portfolio that proves not only solid design skills but also forward-thinking solutions. A portfolio review is required.

  A plus:

  The ability to prototype design concepts with a variety of tools is a plus.

  Experience in AI or LLM is a plus
