　　Provides direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

　　Minimum EducationSuccessful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.

　　Certifications/LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment. Requires a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire. Handle with care is required within 90 days of hire. Handle with Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire
