Job Description:This position is responsible for performing generalhousekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in asanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and JointCommission standards.

Scope1.Cleans patient rooms or dismissal units; duties include but are notlimited to disinfecting all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning of sinks,counter areas, shower and toilet, dusting, mopping and vacuuming,restocking paper products and shampooing the carpet.2. Disinfects all public areas duties include but are not limited to sinks,toilets, washing walls, damp mop, and refill paper products,stairwells, damp disinfecting all areas, disinfecting handrails,replacement of blinds and shampooing carpets, buffing or waxing of floors inareas where needed.3. Follows proper procedure for separating regular waster versus biohazardouswaster, disposal of needles, and storage of clean and dirty linens.4. Cleans Ancillary areas duties include but are not limited to wearing backpack vacuum, cleaning restrooms, trash disposal, damp disinfecting5. Disposes of Sharps container per policy (at certain care sites).6. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides byservice behavior standards.7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsRequired
Biohazardous Waste certification obtained within 6 months of hire is requiredat certain care sites
PreferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
