Job Description:
As a Juniper SD-WAN/SSR Engineer at WWT you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing Juniper-based SD-WAN and Security Services Router (SSR) solutions for a US Navy customer. This Navy customer is developing an enterprise design for various expeditionary systems to utilize commercial ubiquitous transport network to deliver services between expeditionary and enterprise systems. You will work closely with our partner Georgia Tech Research Institute to understand the network requirements and provide expert-level guidance to ensure the successful deployment and operation of Juniper SD-WAN and SSR solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Architecture: Collaborate with clients to design and architect Juniper SD-WAN and SSR solutions tailored to their specific business needs. Create comprehensive network designs, including routing, switching, security, and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations.
Implementation: Configure, deploy, and optimize Juniper SD-WAN and SSR devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls. Ensure seamless integration with existing network infrastructure.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for Juniper SD-WAN and SSR solutions. Identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain high network availability.
Security: Implement robust security measures, including firewall policies, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), and access control lists (ACLs), to safeguard client networks.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor network performance and make adjustments to optimize traffic flow, reduce latency, and improve overall network efficiency.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and best practices. Create network diagrams, operational guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security experts, to ensure seamless network operations.
Vendor Interaction: Collaborate with Juniper Networks and other vendors to stay updated on the latest product offerings, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Secret Clearance needed to startBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Juniper Networks certifications, such as JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-SP, JNCIP-SP, JNCIE-SP, and JNCIA-SDWAN.Proven experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Juniper SD-WAN and SSR solutions.Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN technologies.Familiarity with security protocols and practices, including IPsec, SSL VPN, and firewall configurations.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.Willingness to travel to customer sites
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.Experience with other networking and security technologies, such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
