As a Natural Language Understanding Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:* Leading several teams in developing software solutions for improving documentation workflows within hospitals* Integrating machine learning into existing natural language technologies* Working very closely with product teams and customers to derive feature requests and define respective road maps* Developing solutions that can help the doctors in real-time with their documentation requirements, thus improving documentation and hence patient outcomes
Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree or higher AND ten (10) years of active software development, preferably in developing solutions for improving clinical documentation processes in hospital workflows
OR* High School Diploma/GED from AND fourteen (14) years of active software development, preferably in developing solutions for improving clinical documentation processes in hospital workflows
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:* Five (5) years of applying statistics and machine learning applied to natural language understanding problems
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:* Master's degree in computer science or software design and management from an accredited institution* Three (3) years of managing software development teams in a private, public, government or military environment* Management experience preferred* Skills include the ability to manage and motivate diverse and partially remote teams and to engage actively in the design and solution of complex problems involving stakeholders from other teams* Experience with training deep neural networks and integration into existing software architectures* Experience with Cloud technologies

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $177,961 - $217,508, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
