FTE: 1.000000 Hours: Monday-Friday 1st shift Shift: Shift 1 JobSummary: The Cancer Center Technician Sr is an essential member of thepatient-centered cancer healthcare team. This individual, under thedirection and supervision of a Registered Nurses provides delegatedage-appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner.Contributes to patient care by assisting with tasks outlined in theirclinical competency assessment related to pre-visit planning, vitalsigns, performing blood draws, maintaining the environment of care,standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, review ofdischarge instructions. Manages supply inventory, and/or assistingproviders and other members of the Cancer Center interdisciplinary careteam to enhance the patient care experience. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: HighSchool Diploma or GED is required. One of the following is alsorequired: 1. Completion of an CAAHEP or ABHES accredited MedicalAssistant Program, or 2. Current staff with Wisconsin Nursing AssistantCertification and at least 5 years of ambulatory cancer experience willbe grandfathered in the role, or 3. Graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHESMedical Assistant program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) orMilitary Medic/Corpsman training and 3 years formal on the job MedicalAssistant experience, or 4. Currently possess and are in good standingwith at least one of the following credentials: a) Certified MedicalAssistant, b) Registered Medical Assistant, c) Assessment-BasedRecognition Order Entry within 90 days of hire d) CCMA CertifiedClinical Medical Assistant. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Graduate of an CAAHEPor ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma orCertificate) is preferred.
