POSITION SUMMARY
Collaboratively develops and implements planning strategies to address short-term and long-term decisions to ensure adequate capacity and energy resources are available to serve loads and to minimize risk exposure. Develops and maintains systems to monitor, evaluate, and report the performance of the power supply portfolio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Originates and negotiates contracts with counterparties for portfolio procurement, medium-long term power purchases, and/or other products and services.Develops processes/systems to support wholesale power operations required to optimize generation assets including working across teams to ensure transactions are captured in various internal and external systems.Investigates and evaluates proposals for new programs and resources, confers with departmental peers and recommends changes in policies, programs, methods, and procedures.Reviews and evaluates reports from various industry partners and internal departments to recommend adjustments, further research, or needed bridges in the power supply portfolio.Assists in decision-making and justification of new generation construction, retirement, conversions, or sales.Assists in monitoring of major project timelines and milestones and communicates both internally and externally when thresholds are not met according to contractual or performance expectations to ensure compliance with procurement and reporting requirements.Constructs verbal and written presentations regarding assigned functional areas.Maintains an ongoing knowledge of future trends, policy changes, market dynamics, and market opportunities and threats to perform analysis for strategy and policy development to address ongoing changes in the industry.Conducts special projects as assigned by the Director of Supply Portfolio, VP of Power Supply and Risk Management, and Executive VP and COO.Assists with creation of materials to facilitate Board and Committee review of potential supplier agreements, policies, programs, and plans including reports, supporting information, and presentation materials.Performs other duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree in business or related field minimumMasters degree preferredExperience:
Seven years progressive managerial or analytical experience within the utility industry minimumSkills and Abilities:
