Holiday Rotation: None Weekend Rotation:None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARY The MA, CMA or LPN,under the direction of the physician or other designated licensed staff,provides routine patient care in an ambulatory setting. The MA, CMA, orLPN is able to work as part of a team and perform both clinical andadministrative duties. Clinical duties may include taking and recordingvital signs and medical histories, preparing patients forexamination/procedure, sterilization of medical instruments andadministering medications as directed by provider or designee.Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintainingmedical records and filling out insurance forms/paperwork andpre-authorizations if needed. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Manages patient flow and performs patient rooming workflows. 2.Demonstrates and understands infection control, sterile and aseptictechniques. Uses appropriate techniques in setting up or assisting withprocedure. 3. Enters and processes all orders (e.g. diagnostic, officeprocedures) and assists in the scheduling of procedures. 4. Assistsmedical provider with processing of diagnostic results. 5. Administersmedications by all routes excluding intravenous infusion. Demonstratesand understands administration techniques, recognizes and reportseffects and side effects of medication, and instructs patientappropriately. 6. Collects and records accurate telephone informationand relays it to medical provider or nurse in a timely manner. 7.Cleans, prepares, and autoclaves equipment and instruments inpreparation for sterilizations per infection control policies andprocedures. 8.Check inventory and order supplies as needed. 9. Providespatient education only under the direction of medical provider or nurse.10. Performs delegated MD/Nursing acts commensurate with education,training, competency and experience. 11. Schedule referrals/outpatientdiagnostic procedures including patient prep information and coordinateprior authorizations 12. Collect laboratory samples.
