HOW A LAND MOBILE RADIO (LMR) TECHNICIAN II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.

● Will verify services by testing circuits/equipment/alarms identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

● Leverage LMR shop operations management experience from a large-scale LMR shop.

● Will respond to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.

● Will install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair telecommunication equipment, to include running/pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.

● Apply hands-on experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola other LMR Equipment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: High School Diploma/GED

● Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience

● Required Technical Skills: Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters and mobile radios.

● Security Clearance Level: SECRET

● Required Skills and Abilities:

• Communications consoles

• Repeaters

• XTS-5000 and other hand-held radios

• Trunked and non-trunked LMR systems

• Key loaders, antennas, multi-couplers, duplexers

• Test equipment (service monitors/ system analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power meters, spectrum analyzer

• Digital recording equipment

• OTAR keying equipment (Key management facility)

• Site controllers

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $27.82 - $30.15. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
